Brainstorming Results
Summary

Overview:
Suggestions were offered in four different areas of the San Diego Walk to Emmaus. Many of the suggestions overlapped into other category's areas.

  • It was recommended that the Board review the suggestions for implementation and action items.
  • It was recommended that a shortened article re these results be placed in the "Rooster Doodles".
  • It was recommended that a summary be written up for the web-site.

    • Community:

  • More inclusiveness, including having Chrysalis invited to Emmaus events.
  • Enhance communication.
  • Every involved Church should have contact person.
  • Invite community down to pray in chapel/kitchen on week-ends.
  • Table leaders meet with new Pilgrims in grouping for one or two months after Walks.
  • Church small groups meet for dinner, Pilgrim selection, prayer.
  • Make sure there is a Board Grouping person, separate from Gatherings.
  • Presentation Teams: Non-Board or Board members on a team to do presentations at churches. All have the same pre-written script to follow.

    • Team:

  • Cook leadership to call last two Walk Pilgrims to ask them to work in kitchen.
  • Support team team-building by having their own meetings after joint worship with conference team which could include table agape making.
  • Prayer partners for ALL -support and conference.
  • More supportive, inclusive and encouraging of cooks.
  • Team applications at every event. Maybe have them fill them out if they EVER want to work. Everyone gets an application at Fourth Day.
  • Better explanation of duties/new notebooks.
  • Team Selection Committee with a Lay Director Preparation Plan. Encourage niche people to move on, develop new talents.

    • Pilgrims:

  • Have booth at Annual Conference.
  • Pray for Pilgrims consistently.
  • Let sponsors know there is scholarship available.
  • Church group can meet and discuss who to select from their own churches.
    Start at your own church/family, then can branch out with presentation teams.

    • Board:

    • Have each church adopt a Board member for prayer support.
    • Notify community prior to Board meeting so the community can pray for the Board at that time.
